Meet the Founder

Nelson & Neiss was founded by Sarah Yorke in 2025. The agency is named in honor of two very special teachers from her childhood. As an independent agency, Nelson & Neiss supports multilingual business owners and entrepreneurs. The agency offers brand-focused design direction and English language lessons tailored to your needs.

Sarah holds a Master of Education in Language & Literacy, a Post-Baccalaureate Certification in User Experience (UX) Design and Media Studies, and a Bachelor of Humanities in English Literature, Writing and Rhetoric. Before starting Nelson & Neiss, she spent four years as a Creative Director in partnership with Meta; and taught at the university level in Pedagogical Leadership and Instructional Technology.

Her design aesthetic is elegant and balanced, always touched by something a little unexpected. In language coaching, she is creative and always focused on making you feel comfortable while you grow. Beyond work, Sarah loves traveling, learning Arabic, and studying the tiny wonders of nature under her microscope.

About the Logo

Sketch of a butterfly logo design with annotations describing various elements like petals, growth leaves, and mirrored flowers, with notes on design, agency, and aesthetic details.
A symmetrical white butterfly design on a dark brown background.

The mirrored flower emblem of Nelson & Neiss began as a repurposed logo, a design we chose to evolve rather than abandon. It represents our belief that creativity should never go to waste, and that old ideas are a language that can be reshaped into something new. Our mirrored flowers logo represent the duality of design and language, two interconnected forms of expression that reflect and shape one another. These are the very forms of communication at the heart of our work: design and language.

    PROFESSOR

I had never heard of the term UX before Sarah. When we met to talk, she was so kind and helped me understand what this field is all about and why it is important. Specifically, she got me thinking about how my own class is structured on my LMS (Learning Management System). Thanks to Sarah, I was much more intentional in my redesign of some of my course pages. In my course reviews, several students mentioned how well organized and easy to use my class site was.

    BUSINESS OWNER

Imagine having fresh, innovative ways to elevate your clients’ experience in today’s business world. That’s exactly what Sarah created for me. Grounded in research and practice around accessibility and digital citizenship, she helped me rethink my ‘traditional’ approach and inspired me to embrace new possibilities. I now meet with her regularly for integrated sessions, a blend of design strategy and language learning. Her magnetic personality, infectious enthusiasm, and genuine love of teaching makes me look forward to our meetings each time.

    COMPANY MANAGER

Sarah really helped me feel more confident with my English, especially for work presentations. I work in the fashion industry and she taught me more words and expressions I need for my job. She also helps me with my accent so people understand me better. Now I can really speak with more confidence in my meetings. Sarah makes learning fun and useful at the same time, and I am very thankful for her support.
